Expectations on Darshan’s film ‘Thangigaagi’ have been huge for the simple reason that he has not failed whenever he held sword in his hands. Director P.N.Sathya has copied the original Tamil version ‘Tirupachi’ to every inch for the Kannada version. It short, it is nothing but old wine in new bottle.

Veerabhadra (Darshan) is a happy-go-lucky guy who loves his only sister Gowri (Shwetha) very much. Gowri marries a nice man who stays in Bangalore city. Veerabhadra’s brother-in-law advises him to keep away from bad elements in the city. As fate has it, rowdies in the city kill his close friend. This ignites the fire in him and he decides to wipe out anti-social elements in the city.

The film’s theme is as old as the hills with ample violence. You will be disappointed if you are looking for something new in the film. Darshan carries everything on his shoulders. He is the one-man-army and is seen with Shwetha almost all the time. Newcomer Poonam is convincing as his ladylove. In fact, she is likely to go places from here. Other actors like Rangayana Raghu and Avinash have done their jobs well. Cameraman Anaji Nagaraj has captured tulip garden in Amsterdam beautifully.

Go watch the film if you have nothing to do. Of course, it’s a must for Darshan fans to watch it.
